Chicagoans, give up hope

Uh, buddy... it's not like everyone in Chicago has a car. The only places I know of to go for these games are the Game Stop/Best Buy at Clark/Diversey or the Best Buy near North/Clybourn.

That's about it. CTA isn't some magical GameStop tour service.

And there are really no malls in central-northside Chicago. There just isn't the space. You can always catch the Yellow line and Skokie 97 to Old Orchard, but that's really out of the way to get to an EB and Best Buy. ;P

There's also EB stores at Clyborn and Webster and on Elston just south of Logan Blvd (there's a Cubs and MicroCenter in the same parking lot - Circuit city just across the street and a Best Buy just south of Webster on Elston).

And lets give it up for us Chicagoans who rely on mass transit!

Sort of off topic. Drop EB games, Gamestop, and Best Buy. According to Fry's Electronics in Downers Grove, they'll have the pre-order version for sale tomorrow, and check this out: $37.99. At least that's what the dim witted salesperson told me when i saw the add in the tribune and called.

Us cheeseheads are in the same boat. EB looks like the best bet -- 2 stores (Bayshore and Grand Ave) said they were getting it tomorrow. Best Buy said they weren't getting it until NEXT FRIGGIN' WEEK, for Jebis' sake.

I will have the game no later than 6:00 P.M. I might have it as early as 5:00 P.M., I have no way of being certain (I got some schedule problems from clearing TWO DAYS OUT OF MY LIFE).

Hehe. I worked at the movie theater outside Woodfield when I was 16. It is where the DSW is now.

It is nice to get a taste of the suburbs when I am at my mom's and a taste of the city when I am with my b/f.

Nope no Civ anywhere. Best Buy on North Side said they got no shipments in and the new ship date to them is the 27th for all stores. I think someone forgot about us =(

My local Gamestop (in the burbs) said it would be here tomorrow approx 2pm. If they have it in the burbs by 2pm, it should be in the city waaaayy before.

Yup. 2pm is what I got from Gamestop also. I'll just stop by the store after work.

the Palatine Gamestop said that they will have their copies after 2:00 today (or whenever the UPS guy makes it there)

also, it was fantasic to see paul edinger beat the pack last weekend... nice to see a former Bear scrub put that final dagger in the pack. At least you guys should be able to draft that USC QB next year with the #1 pick.

Which store is that? I'm in Greek Town for work...live in north Wrigleyville. I'm not sure I've ever seen a GameStop store anywhere. I'm hoping by the time I make my way home I'll be able to get a copy!

I don't live in Chicago but Rockford is close enough. I called the EB I preordered at yesterday and the guy said it looked like they wouldn't have it in until Thursday. Since he didn't sound very sure I am hoping they at least get the preorders in today.
