Waiting to hear from biplano on his civ pick and then we can go. I'll leave it up to you to send your e-mail addy to the person preceding you.

@mikeyia - I think you have the order round the wrong way. I would suggest playing from 8 to 1 so that the game can go west with the sun.

Not sure what difference it is going to make esp. in todays 24 hour world and would be easier since i'm making the game to start it off unless Zorzak or Shogu wants to create it.

Well, if everyone plays at (say) 9pm local then the following will happen ...
  • Mikeyia plays at 3am GMT
  • Ruff plays at 2am GMT the next day
  • biplano plays at midnight GMT, same day as ruff-GMT-3
  • Dazz_G plays at 9pm GMT, Day 2
  • Mazinho plays at 9pm GMT, Day 2 (assuming zero transmit time)
  • TentacleMayor plays at 8pm GMT, Day 3
  • Shogu plays at 8pm GMT, Day 3
  • Zorzak plays at 8pm GMT, Day 3
  • Mikeyia plays at 3am GMT, Day 4 (round #2)

If we reverse the order, we get a 24hr turn around, 1 turn per day in stead of 1 turn every 3 days. The other option is ...

1. Mikeyia-Random GMT -6
2. TentacleMayor-Byzantines- GMT +1
3. Shogu-Random GMT +1
4. Zorzak-Random GMT +1
5. Dazz_G-Random GMT +0
6. Mazinho-SuleimanGMT +0
7. biplano-GMT-3
8. ruff_hi:Random GMT -5

That has the right order (heading West) but allows you to start the game. The down side is that I am last and at a disadvantage for founding religions, finishing wonders, etc.

I think ruff_hi has right about list of players by time zone.

For us the more important thing is how often players can play/spend time near computer/check email for saved games. I think the living zone will not be the most important problem, but problem will be then when at least one of us will not have enought time to playing/spending time near computer/checking email and will be holding turn few days.

I can easily say that i can check email/play even several turns per day. (not always, but very often)

My proposition is: Let everyone say thruth about his/her playing/spending time/checking email, and then we will see how the game smoothly will be.

I have yet to play a game where everyone took their turn at the same time every day. And find that games are some weeks turned around fast and have even played 3 turns in one day(w/out a turn order) and other weeks slow especially after people loose interest in the game. A turn order doesn't really matter to me either way and hey Ruff, someone has to be last:)

well, obviously my 9pm was an extreme example, but the concept still holds. If I play at night and have to send a game to someone who is already asleep instead of someone in my time zone (or west), then that will slow the game down.

I don't mind being last - just pointing out that it will make it harder for me (and setting up me using as an excuse for everything that goes wrong in the game :D).

Ruff, like myself, has been around PBEMs quite some time and he is correct in what he says ... it really makes a difference, sometimes quite a difference to turnaround times.

mikeyia what about biplano ? he answer you or not ? as i know we are waiting only for him, maybe any subs for him ? if he do not answer so long like now what will be when he will have turns, i do not want wait cups of days and play 1 turn per week, maybe start in 7 ?

oh my..... yes set to standard and just start the game, how long time are you going to wait to start ? let's start

I had sent him a PM and just sent him an e-mail. We have waited this long to get this game going so a couple of more days won't hurt anything.
