Hi. I would like to be able to choose any leader in Civ IV and be able to pick which civilization bonuses I get, pick and combine my own UU and UB, and choose my two starting techs in every game.

I basically want to play around with different civilization combinations and start with the Wheel and Mysticism in every game, and be able to use different UU's and UB's in each game.

Is there any such mod available that would let me do this? I know that I can use unrestricted leaders, and I love playing currently as Ramases of China (Ind, Spi, Pavilion, Chu-ko-nu), however, I would like my civilization to be named as Egyptian with Egyptian cities, but being able to use the powerful Pavilion UB and Chu-Ko-Nu UU.

There are many other possibilities I want to try as well, I just find myself limited by not being able to pick and choose whichever Civ I want and whichever bonuses and starting techs I want.

The easiest way to accomplish is to customize the Civ4CivilizationInfos.XML. Place a copy of it in the CustomAssets folder for BtS (or Warlords or Vanilla depending on what you play).

In the XML file you will look for China first and find the lines that say something about the Pavilion and the unit you want. Copy those lines to the clipboard, then go to Egypt (CTRL+F to search btw) and look for their lines about unique building & unit. Those lines you then replace with the ones you've got in the clipboard. Of course, they must match the schema perfectly, so don't miss a line.

If you want you can also give the unique building and unit of Egypt to China that way, so you don't lose anything.

For renaming the cities of China to Egyptian ones, there should be a clearly visible area in that XML file for city names. When you look for China in the file, you'll see a lot of TXT_KEY_CITY ... close to the beginning of China's section. You can cut them and put them to Egypt and the other way round.

To edit the name of the civilization, you can, again, switch the TXT_KEY's around for China and Egypt respectively. It will make sense when you see the file.
