Chronicles of Mankind

If that's something that isn't fixable, then there is a limit to the number of moving parts that the civic system should have, and I think Chronicles is over that limit. It's too easy to box yourself into a corner without a good way out.

Right now, my civics are:

Government: Oligarchy
State: Empire
Rule: Bureaucracy (cannot switch to Despotism, Theocracy, Direct)
Society: Bourgeois (cannot switch to Feudal, Liberal)
Labor: Urbanization (cannot switch to Guilds, Penal)
Economy: Free Market (cannot switch to Palace Economy, Coinage, Mercantile)
Military: Vassalage (cannot switch to Warrior Caste)
Media: Political Censorship (cannot switch to Chronicles, Religious Censorship)
Religion: Secular (cannot switch to Prophets)
Welfare: Church
Stance: Prosperity

If I want to adopt any of those civics that I have the tech for, I have to wander through a maze to figure out how to get there. That's too much. At this point, the game I'm playing is pretty much dead, between the amount of anarchy I had to go through to get to this point where I'm cornered, and what I'd have to go through to get myself out of it.

Honestly, I don't really mind if some civic combos are available only in two steps.
Maybe it is possible to reduce the length of anarchy that takes for each civic. I'll have to investigate the possibilities...

At a minimum, it should be easier to figure out how you can construct a path somewhere without putting yourself into a dead end.
 
i can build helicopters, tank and heavy tank when i dont have acess to oil products, meantime i cannot build light tank, because it require oil products

why "great hunter" can discover jet propulsion? this "great man" should be obstolete some around late rennesaince era

  1. You shouldn't really get any Great Hunters from the middle of the game. Of course negligible chances are never zero.
  2. I don't think Great Person creation can be obsoleted.

Actually I even thought of Safari Hunters corporation should require a Great Hunter but rejected the idea for obvious reasons.
 
i can upgrade workers to clones before i make wonder "first cloned mammal"

it isnt longer a wonder, if i can clone humans
 
Random question: has anyone successfully enabled 100 Civ DLL with the latest Chronicles version + Mega Pack? Used to work on previous versions, but not able to get it working now.

I haven't. Max I can get to is 36 civs ( W/O having barb civ's).
On the "weird-o-meter" scale, for some reason I can't run the mod. Looks like I may need to re-DL and experiment.. Lol, maybe on next days off :O
 
The latest version of the mod is not compatible with the 100civs dll. You can add extra civs from MegaPack up to a 50 civs limit, though MegaPack is not updated to the preent state of the mod, so most (all?) civs will trow error messages. These are mainly harmless errors but may cause balance issues. I have plans to add more civs to the main mod but that will take time.
 
...because most important resource in transhuman era is horses, and my reward will be 7 horse archers...

few other things i catch:

AI had possibility to vote on UN forum what to do. they choose option "democracy in all countries" - and all AI player vote FOR IT. Even big as our USSR - communist state of Spain with 23 cities vote for it.

what is even more funny global civic for healthcare - socialised was rejected by few countries including people`s republic of spain xD

slavery is still active in some countries in transhuman era - fascism with "Penal" civic should obstolete / block "slavery". Or just make penal more advanced version of slavery

"senate civic" in all countries voting in UN is no longer possible (senate civic no longer exist), but can be choosed, will make a game crash problay, need to be replaced by "virtual"
(or rather "president" because you can have oligarchy or democracy if you choose this option)

It would be best if you could choose all options, from tribal, anarchy to transhuman - civic like paradise or hivemind but it cost so much work, that it can lay for that moment
it wouldn`t be so weird choosing global "closed borders" immigration civic in dystopian World. Hivemind-countries dont like nobody exept these who think like them.

AI always choose "Hive" civic, even if have bonuses and profits from financial trait, even these AI who have 4+ HQ corporations prefer turn into mindless human-like drones
it need to be changed, maybe cyberpunk "Governent Corp." should have some bonuses to production, gold , reduce cost of corporations AND +3 bonus to relations with other CORP Governents

I belive in tranhuman era ideology will be even more important then in other eras, mainly because humanity will be making last step before unity / enslave / free whole planet as Gigantic Global Empire in who countires cannot be separate from each other

in other words hiveminds countries will be fight open on from shadows with other hiveminds and other countries, CORP countries try to unite and fight each other as one, in meantime war-like "Human Superior" or "Fanatic" modern Tyrranies / AutoCracies will be try claim as much resources, land and people as possible.

And last but not least, Religious Civs who choose "intolerance" and will try purge all heretics around trying to win religious victory, united by religion and the same beliefs sounds very hiveminded

i hope remove religions work including remove holy places too, it would be great if it worked like this, i never tested it. Always when i play as "spiritual-aggresive civ" i razed these cities

i think "spiritual" trait for civilisation means that religion is very important to them and they never choose "atheism" or "secular" in other way than be force (when is vassal or by UN voting) - i liked this idea in other mods

Understandable, and thank you for all that you do. Noticed the errors, didn't seem to cause an actual issue in any of my recent iterations.

These are all good points you mentioned.

UN voting: I think maybe I should remove some voting options. It's pointless to force an option that your other civics block. So I think I should remove those options that are blocked by any state civic (Aut/Olig/Demo) but add civics from other categories that have no such hindrances.

The Time Tunnel is just a renamed Ascension Gate, so it shouldn't be a problem.
Don't you have Mastery Victory on also? That ignores all other victories.
