In theory that's it but experiences show somewhat otherwise. So it's 4GB limit for everyone but does your PC really use that 4GB? Or are you wasting RAM somewhere/somehow? Like too many others programs running in the background that you would not think that matters? As I said, my last game was on Giant/Gigantic map around 400 cities and manageable MAFs.Hmm but as far as I know, the PC is no longer a bottle neck, but the executable, that as far as I know, is written in 32bits and can only handle 2GB (4Gb if the executable has being patched)
As above, and as far as I know, the computer is no longer an issue (in my case Intel I5, 32Gb Ram DDR4, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 12GB, SSD). The problem is that the BtS executable, cannot handle more than 2GB, right?
There is a way to patch the executable to be able to handle a bit more RAM, isn't it?
Frozen animations option? This never happened to me. I have just started a game with the Mega Pack activated (this is the first time I use it)
Any clue?
Version 3.19 is already large address aware. There is a way to patch the executable to be able to handle a bit more RAM, isn't it?
yesss that was it...Frozen animations option?
hmmmm I see. I will try to close everything in background. In theory that's it but experiences show somewhat otherwise. So it's 4GB limit for everyone but does your PC really use that 4GB? (& possibly less memory allocation crashes)
Another question: Until the other day, I almost never have had a MAF, but I feel I started to have them after installing the Mega Pack and activating all the options. Could the Mega Pack the origin of the MAFs I am getting recently?
Thanks, good to know. That's what I am experiencing. I have started another gigantic map with 30 civs, and I can open the WorldEditor, and so on, and I haven't get any MAFs yet.yes. I had this exact issue, installign the mega pack, no matter how many actually appear in your game, will massively increase the amount of MAFs you get. You're better off not using it at all, unless you know how to unpack/pack, in which case you can go in and delete every other civ you don't want to use and re-pack it in. I'm using mega pack with each file only about 200 MB and I get almost no MAFs on my current game (Huge map, approx 20 civs) until like turn 1900 out of 2600, and even now, it's usually 1 or 2 MAFs every hour.
I never tried Process Lasso and heard differing opinions about it: someone said it's good but others said it's making things even worse. But may worth a try. Just be warned that it may or may not work as announced.hmmmm I see. I will try to close everything in background.
recently I read about a program to monitor/optimize all the process that are running on your PC, here:
(& possibly less memory allocation crashes)
One way to reduce memory allocation crashes (due to memory leaks) is to use an inexpensive commercial product called Process Lasso from Bitsum. It runs in the background and monitors/optimizes all the process that are running on your PC. It manages the priorities to keep background processes from hogging the CPU from foreground processes.
One feature it has is a thing called Trim. It will execute a Trim to have certain processes release memory at designated conditions. The other feature is Process Watchdog. This is a tool to monitor a...
does it make sense to you to try what it is described in that post?

But I reccomend you rather study Civilopedia. That will be more usefullI was playing around with ChatGPT, trying to get a small summary of pros and cons of the different religions.
Haha, I know, it still quite stupid.ChatGPT is very usefull but artifical inteligence is still stupid
I can't check it now but that may not be wrong. If it was wrong the game would start with error messages or not at all.
Yeah, also, that is what I am seeing now.But I reccomend you rather study Civilopedia. That will be more usefull![]()
Well... they should be equally strong, so I welcome any suggestions to balance them betterHaha, I know, it still quite stupid.
Just letting you know in case it is actually right about it
Yeah, also, that is what I am seeing now.
Talking about that: I am seeing that the Religions are not equal in bonuses, meaning, there are better religions than others, right?
For example, right now I am considering Hellenism or Hinduism, and I see Hinduism has more bonuses:
- Every city with State religion: Hinduism gives +3per city, while Hellenism gives +1
- Hinduism Temple gives +2instead if 1
that the Hellenism gives (both gives +2
)
- The Hinduism Holy Temple gives +1, while Hellenism Holy Temple gives +1
- In contrast, Hellenism gives some other bonus, like the monastery giving +10% Unit production and the Pankration Promotion
Between Hellenism and Hinduism, which one would you prefer?
Considering all the religions, could you make a ranking of them? I would think that all the later ones (found by a Great Prophet) are more powerful than the old ones, right?
I favor Hellenism and Kemetism but because of roleplaying and not because of strategic reasons.Between Hellenism and Hinduism, which one would you prefer?
Ah ok, so, I guess Hellenism gives lessWell... they should be equally strong, so I welcome any suggestions to balance them better
