'Chronicles' version Civ I problem

Hi. I've just bought Civ Chronicles and was thrilled to see it included the windows version of Civ I.
Unfortunately, it crashes before it gets to the menu screen. Has anyone else had this problem? (I have XP and live in the UK, if that makes any difference).

You can try using compatability mode on the application itself. i also have windowsXp sp2 . the game will seem to always crash for me sometimes (on loading it) sometimes it doesn't. i have mine set for win95 compatablity mode but still crashes sometimes.

I'm using WinCiv from Civ Chronicles also, and have no problems running on XP. However, I do make sure that I've reduced the screen to 800x600, and try to reduce the graphics down from the rarified hights that you can use on pukka Win XP apps.

I've even managed to get the DOS version to work in a DOS box in XP (SP2), but only after getting round the sound bug.

I think setting your screen at 800X600 may help. That is where my Windows XP is set and it works fine.
