I noticed this in the Tech analysis thread but no one answered me so I'm making a new thread, if its too similar please delete or merge but I think this is specific enough to warrant its own thread. And I really want some thoughts on this.

I noticed Circus Maximus has seemingly been moved to Horseback riding instead of being on construction. This seems odd if its still the national wonder associated with colosseums?
Since all other National wonders are either on the same tech or direct tech line as their prerequisite building why isn't Circus Max.?
Does this mean that Circus Maximus has been changed to be the national wonder requiring Circuses instead of Colosseums? and if so does that me we will be able to build circuses in every city regardless of resources available?

Thoughts?

The Circus Maximus was a horse racing stadium. It seems pretty logical to associate it with Horseback Riding. But I doubt it would require Circuses in every city, since that would be nearly impossible.

There were a lot of cases in Civ V where too many unlocks were crowed together in some techs, whereas other techs only had a single unlock. I'm glad they're spreading it out a bit.

Unless they make circuses not need horses anymore. Perhaps they are linking circus to a new resource? hmmm, doubtful

All I know is, they have reworked and lengthened the Classical Era, so I am sure they have something interesting in mind.

In Vanilla the Ironworks comes with Machinery, but its required building the Workshop comes with Metal Casting, which is not a prerequisite for Machinery.

Metal Castin btw now has Engineering as an additional prerq, which is a bit of a nerf for the Iroquois, as they now need 5 more techs to get their UB.

Same with College, National College requires Education if I'm not mistaking, but Libraries come with Writing.

I had forgotten about Workshop not being on a prerequisite tech to the Ironworks. I'm wondering if that has changed since they seem to be making most techs require more prerequisites. I'm speculating that Machinery might need Metal Casting in G&K. Just a guess though.

I appreciate they could just be moving around and putting it on a tech that doesn't unlock much and feels like a better place to have the Circus Maximus since it is a horse based entertainment.

I suppose I just find it odd that its could be the only one not on the same direct tech path (if I'm right about Machinery).

Although then again there are other oddities like stoneworks requiring Calendar instead of Masonry.
