Cities acting like units!

its not the end of the mod... and i can still contribute but i dont think i can do the programming. This mod was at first a summer project but since im in school right now i dont really have time to do much on it. I want to ask a friend who is learning (and is planing on becoming a..) python programmer. He told me he got civ 4 for christmas so i think he will be working on it after i contact him.

I'm glad the mod's not finished :) . I did attempt to do some changes to a mod but... well right now I'm capable of XML but long periods of time exposed to python, let alone SDK, reduces me to a shivering wreck... So I probably won't be programming for a while...

Ok ill get to that tomorrow when i get home from school.. i dont have much though... and i dont know if it'll be of any help to you... but...

well actually... if im gonna continue this project i'd really need to find out how to make the cities move... this is the only obstacle for the moment... i haven't really worked on it other then that... just xml is what i have... nothing helpful to other projects.

If you want to you can contribute to it by trying to find out how to make the cities move.... but till then not much is going on

Couldn't you just make a "city" unit, and give it lots of the effects of cities?

well the idea is to have a "city unit" be placed on top of what would be a city and when the city unit moves a event is triggered causing the city to relocate to.. but to do this i would have to find out how to relocated the city without deleting and recreating it on a new tile.

i agree that this would be an awesome mod but i dont really have the time/skills at the moment to work it together .. but if anyone wants to put themselves to the challenge and figure out how to get it started then feel free to use my idea. In fact... i encourage you all to try.

If anyone is to find out how to do it or develope the mod any further then pm me :D

I really love these books and always wanted a computer game for it... Civ 4 would be perfect for it! So is this going to be completed?

Well the last post was about 4 and a half years ago so It probably didnt get to much farther then where the thread left off...
