City Connection Question

Fairly new to the game, and I have a question about how to connect my 3rd city to my capital. The capital is land-locked. My 2nd city is connected by roads to the capital, and it has ocean access. I just founded the 3rd city on an island (w/ Mt Fuji). What is the best way to connect the 3rd city to the capital? If I build harbors in 2 and 3 will that work?

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, building harbors in 2nd and 3rd cities shld connect your 3rd city to your capital.

You must also reveal tiles of ocean that path from the 3rd city to the second, and you must not be blockaded.
Hilariously, starting a Cargo Ship can sometimes reveal the plots on the trade route. I don't know when or why this happens.

Well, I assume that since he can found a city on an island. he must have been able to get there in the first place. :ack:

It should theoretically be "always" reveal the plots on the trade route (if not revealed already) - game engine does make a call to reveal all plots along the path.

Only railroads could connect other cities without harbors to the capital when connected to a local city that has a harbor that connects to a capital when going for the railroad production bonus.

This ^ is not true. Any combination of road and harbor connections will form city connections.

Which was NOT the question. You should not make statements about game mechanics that are irrelevant to the question actually being asked.
