I've seen a lot of FAQs and guides to waging war, but has any compiled a guide on how to make the absolute most of each city you build?

I'd like to see a guide that explains in detail :

- Where to locate cities.

- What each special is and how it affects the city in terms of trade, food, and production.

- How to make existing cities more efficient by directing workers to city squares.

- What different governments need from cities (if applicable).

If I've missed a guide like this, please point it out. I'm getting interested in the smaller, subtle details that could mean the difference between a good Civ score and a great score, and I believe that the cities themselves can offer a lot of information.

I don't know if all that is in one central guide. A good place to start is the War Academy, and Nethog's brand new Civ 2 info pack. You'll need to read the bits from each guide to extract what you want.

Another thing is to do a search, and pull of threads that contain specific things that may interest you. You can use the word AND (in capital letters) to combine defferent things.... like "city AND special AND terrain AND worker"

:)

Thanks for the tip.

With all the posts I've read about Power Democracy Civs, I found it a little odd that no one has really put together a guide on the inner workings of cities that make PD viable.

- Where to locate cities.
[Basic guides in War Academy; Prima Guide, depends on personal strategy choice]

- What each special is and how it affects the city in terms of trade, food, and production.
[Wall chart, Civilopedia, War Academy, Prima Guide, rules.txt, or Nethog's new guide]

- How to make existing cities more efficient by directing workers to city squares.
[Mentioned in Trade threads for Arrows; generally just comes with experience and need]

- What different governments need from cities (if applicable)[/QUOTE]
[Manual, Prima Guide, general War Academy guides]

I think most people ready for PD have pretty much got a handle on that. I put some specific references in brakets for you, above.
