I had to destroy a city containing the UN in an 'whack the legendary city' expedition last night. I was not surprised to find that there were no more UN votes for the remainder of the game. I was, however, a little surprised to see that the UN resolutions (extra trade route, non-proliferation treaty) seemed to remain in effect. Is this what is supposed to happen?

Seems to me that the UN resolutions should cease if the UN is destroyed -- some of them are very helpful (the economics ones, in particular).

Can you rebuild it after it was destroyed?

I doubt it. World Wonders can not be rebuilt after they have been destroyed.

I am about to raze the city with the AP in it after razing its holy city a few turns ago. We'll see if I can build it, but I shouldn’t since it is a world wonder. Can you say Crusade?

In that case I think the UN resolutions should just fall apart immediately. It'd be fun.

AP too, one should be given the option of risking taking on the whole religious block to raze the AP and cause the block to literally disintegrate. Say something like half the world's cities with that religion actually loose the religion. That'd be fun. The AI's will then swap to follow each of their own dominant religion, and you get a whole new picture again.

Actually, it'd be fun if you raze a holy city, some cities loose their faith in that religion. And make it even worse if it was the AP city that got razed.

Say all cities further than a set distance away from the AP/Holy City will loose the religion?

It would be nice if we could see the buildings in a city before making the decision to raze it or to keep it.

yea, I like that too. Also, they should change the AP and UN into World Projects, I think that way someone can rebuild them.

I like the ideas here. Destroying a holy city or the AP should have a negative world impact on that religion in countries where less than 80% of the population believe in the religion. However in countries where 80% or more of the people believe in christianity destroying the Vatican might be seen as an immediate act of war!

And having the total political picture shift so suddenly would be a lot of fun. If irritating when it shifts away from where I want it to be. Could make for some really interesting games, especially if some of the weaker powers benefit from the changed situation.

I also like the idea of making the UN/AP world projects. If I destroy the AP why shouldn't I rebuild it in one of my cities, and devote it to MY religion? That would also shake things up.

I can imagine the chaos. Christianity takes a major blow and I'm at war with all the remaining major christian powers, and then I refound the AP for Hinduism or Judiasm and . .. declare a holy war against the infidels! LOL

Technically neither the AP or the UN should be wonders anyway because they relate to a victory condition. Destroying the UN/AP destroys any option of a player getting a diplomatic victory. No other victory condition can be totally eliminated from the game by a warmonger.

ud think for United Nations you could... idk rebuild it.. and holy cities when their razed the religion should pick another city as the holy city, either where the AP is, where the Holy mountian is, or the largest concentration of that religion.
