Hello Civ Fanatics!
I have a wierd problem with Civ 2.42 (and also with the unpatched version) on vista. In some games at some times the game crashes when I check Supply and Demand. It's always the same error, "NTVDM.EXE has stopped working".
For example:
I play Americans on the the world map, I research trade and build my first caravan. I press "supply and demand" in the dialog window - the game freezes.
I play Romans on a random map. I build a caravan and the game DOESN'T freeze.
I play English on the world map and I build a caravan: the game freezes.
I play Spanish in the WWII scenario; game DOESN'T freeze.
What is going on here? The game is playing just fine except for this supply/demand issue. I got a similar error in the end of the installation but the game seems to be installed properly anyway. Does anyone know how to fix NTVDM.EXE (which seems to be some kind of dos emulator service in windows)?
Any help would instantly raise my attitude to worshipful
UPDATE: Started another game as Swedish (Vikings) on an alternative world map. In the beginning there is no problem with the supply/demand window but later (now year 1100 AD on king) the freeze bug returns
