my current setup at home uses a linuxbox acting as a firewall 2 get on the net....
I'm wonder is there a way 2 get a multiplayer game to go through a firewall?

you can try hot joining. Some firewalls used to have this hole.

Lower the wall if possible.

In order to host a game, you need to forward ports 4993 on TCP and port 4994 on UDP to the hosting computer.

For playing, you just need some intelligent NAT software \o/

Mine runs fine with no tweaking thru Win2k ICS, smoothwall and linux IPTABLES.

Whatyou need is a TCP port watching program - I use TCPView Pro from www.winternals.com - you load it, load your game, try to do whatever you want to do, and watch to see what ports are being opened - all those ports need to be opened on the firewall, and any ones that are "Listening", the firewall needs to forward those ports to the correct computer.
