Civ 3 Hook

The day Civ one hit the shelfs I started playing it.

The most annoying thing back then was when an AI unit would camp and fortify right next to your cities and the only way to remove them back then was declare war.

Before Civ II used to play this world Domination game called "Empire",

Man that was a long time ago....

I got it in April 2003, and have been hooked ever since. It actually took me to August to beat a level on Warlord, because I didn't want to move up a level.

September 1996,i started playing CIV2....and goes on....and..on..

I played Civ1 while I was at sea (Navy) in 1992 or so, but it trailed off when I beat 7 AIs on an Earth map in about 10 turns (through getting a chariot and going pell-mell to all the reality-based starting positions, and using a galley to get Lincoln as well). Could never beat that and stopped trying. I got reintroduced to Civ3 about a year ago, and haven't stopped. Up till then my favorite game was Empire Deluxe, which may be what you're talking about - by White Wolf Games, right?

Yeah, same here. Empire was my first strategy game and Civ I rocked in early 90's!

I still have annoying memories about a killer phalanx destroying my modern
era units.
