Civ 3 strategy guide

My Fellow Civers
This is on the down low, but I’m sure only a few of you will read it – the Important ones anyway – I’m have decided a couple months back to write a strategy guide for Civ3 and get it published, But Yesterday two great things came my way because I sowed MUCH good KARMA

I received by the GRACE of GOD a wonderful new house, and a Publisher, and after talking to him about my idea’s for a CIV3 Strategy guide he told me “It’s very interesting, Keep me Posted” And let me tell you that it’s a GOOD sign

I’ve already talked to Thunderfall Extensively about doing this book and he is fully behind it, and has granted me the vaults of Civfanatics in order to complete my epic. As we speak I am imploring Fraxis to give me a beta version of the game, by the name of my publisher. I’m going to tell you guys straight out that if they grant me a chance to write the book in advance that you can NOT ask me for a copy, because I WILL NOT GIVE IT TO YOU. But what I will give you is a COMPREHENSIVE attitude about the game itself. I have a overall theme that I’m going to give the book, and of course I’m going to wait until the release date to turn the book over to my publisher weather or not I get the beta or not. WISH ME KARMA. This book will be written, and I’m using you guys as my foundation – because you ARE!

But I'll wish you good luck, though I can't help thinking that the only useful strategy guides will come as a result of many different people playing over many months.

ACK! You're making me all jealous, Johan, becuase it sounds so kick-ass and you might get a early version of the game. One question though: will this be an official strategy guide like PRIMA would publish, or an unofficial one? Either way, I'd rather buy a stratguide written by a true Civilization Game Fanatic, then a corporate payrolled writer/computer nerd.

Well to have PRIMA publish it as the offical guide would be wonderful and of course and I am going to take a stab at going through them, but if it doesn't pan out it will be unoffical. I have so many great new ideas to help the reader bridge the gap from his real history and culture to the stategies choosen to win in CIV3.
Right now I have the basic formula for how I want to help make CIV3 a better experence for the gamer, I am only missing the actually game, to plug in all of the essentials.

Where have you been all this time TTG, CIV3 has been ALL over the place for the past 6 months....
People have gathered so much info already I already have made out 10 different methods of stategy! And of course as soon as the game comes out We are ALL going to be playing the Hell out of it for the first month and right on into 2002. I am depending all EVERYONES help with this thing, this is YOUR guide just as much as it is mine. I want to do this for CFC just as much as I do myself... Lol...

Yes, there's lots of information around, but know the size of the map, the number of civs, or the fact that there are special resources really isn't enough information to develop strategies. Unless you've actually played the game, you have no way of knowing if any of them work, and isn't that the point?

Your claims are certainly exciting, but unrealistic I think.

hey that sounds pretty cool, best wishes with it, just wandering are you planning for this strategy guide to be available in the shops to buy or would you have to mail order it? (meaning if it was unofficial)

TTG, your lack of understanding in this case is the main reason why I'll be writing the book, and you will not.

ComradeDav, at this point I have connections with only one chain of books stores, and that chain is Barnes and Noble, if my work makes it physically into a book store, the chances are high that it will be this one.
But in any case, the book WILL be available on the Internet, when it is finished.

Hey, Johan, that sounds exciting. I hope Firaxis will give you a beta so that you can actually play the game and get deeper into the strategy of it all. Anyway, I'm behind you, and wish you the best. I think it will be great if a CivFanatic wrote a strat guide.
