i know this is an old thread Moderator Action: Nope, it's now its own thread. , but i just got a new computer and i had zero problems with this game before on my old computer; basically identical OS and software set-ups. thought someone might be able to help. basically, same situation as everyone else...random reboots of my computer whenever i play civ 4. doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason; different times-periods in the game, different boards, different amounts of time playing, different graphics settings, different other apps running in windows. only static is that its always in civ.
and its all civ games; ive found it on warlords, beyond the sword, and colonization
any help would be appreciated!
both are just out of the box computers:
old system -no problems
-windows 7, ultimate
-Intel ® Core™ i5-450M Processor 2.40GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.66

-Ram-8gb
-Intel ® HD Graphics with up to 1696MB total graphics memory
new system-civ 4 crashes my system

-2nd generation Intel® Core™ i5-2430M Processor 2.40 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 3.00 GHz

-Intel® HD Graphics 3000 with up to 1696MB total graphics memory
