Today is National Chemistry Day or some such thing, so my department (I'm an analytical chemist) all got cookies with different elements printed on them in icing. I looked for an Au (gold), but sadly they only did the first 20 elements. I had to settle for neon.

It will be like my hunt for Age of Empires 3 last night... The web sites said the game ships to stores the 18th, so I go to several stores last night and I'm able to find out that they actually had copies of the game in the back but they weren't allowed to scan them in yet and put them on the shelves until the next day. My friend though who is more persuasive than I was able to get a Best Buy employee to fetch him a copy form the back and scan it in for him (so it has a price and they can check it out at the counter) and he went home with it. Later I went to the same Best Buy to the same employee and he told he wasn't allowed to....

So I'm sure some of you smooth talkers can wind up having Civ 4 on the 25th while the rest of us have to wait for the 26th

Things go uphill (Edit: downhill might be a better expression) after the degree, usually. Then you have to find a job, get a life, work, find a house, work in the house when you finish working to pay the mortgage... Sincerely, i had waaaaayyyy more time during my degree.

Except, I only have three weeks left to complete my dissertation and design project for my degree final semester. If play.com know what's good for me they'll delay sending me my copy for a week or two.........

But I'm not sure I'll be able to take it anymore after seeing everyone's stories and games on this forum. I might have to take a break from CFC just to stay sane...

This is why some of us (i.e., me) choose to stay in college town of alma mater, work for said university, live in small, cheap apartment, and plan to go back to school in a couple of years. This allows you to prolong some of the college experience while making money and not doing homework! It's excellent....and I have to say the scenery in a college town is usually pretty nice.
