CIV 4 runs great on your comp? What are you specs?

Pentium 4, 3,00 GHz
2 GB Ram
Geforce 6800 256 MB

Played with 1 GB RAM beforce and Civ 4 became slow on huge maps. With 2 GB RAM it runs perfectly.

what drivers / settings are you running as I have same board but two 7800's in sli and Civ 4 completely overheats tehm

Can someone answer if the game will waork on my computer?
Dont have ALL the specs but here are some of them:

Fuijitsu: 2000 mhz. 2 ghz.
512 memory.
Geforce ti 4 At least it´s Geforce 4.
U think it will even work on my computer?

Asus P4S8X
2.53 P4
2 GB PC2700 DDR (2x1GB)
GeForce 6200OC, Forceware 81.95 Drivers
SoundBlaster Live Value
Win XP SP2
DirectX 9.0c

Runs beautifully! Had all of the video issues until I installed the latest drivers. Then the occasional crash until I replaced the RAM.

If I had to give one piece of advice, it's GET MORE RAM. This program is not happy until you have fed it 2GB!

I have:

Asus p5ld2
1Gb 533 DDR2 Ram
Abit Rx700 Pro 256Mb
Dual Core P4 3.0 Ghz
All housed in an Antec P180 with 5 variable speed fans

I got the game on the release date in Australia.
Basically game very fast, no probs (I only play huge worlds, 3-7 civs BTW)

BUT....

Pre & post patch, consistantly get CTD after about 1500AD.
Usual sound/movie problems as well..

Not happy, as I am able to play every other game I have, NEVER with probs like I have with Civ 4.

Am extremely dissapointed, as I have been playing Civ since my Amiga 500!

Does it work on my computer?
My specs are:
Pentium 4: 2000mhz 2 Ghz.
512 mb RAM.
Geforce Ti 4 64 mb. (Think it is Ti)

U think i will be able to play Civ 4??

Thank u in advance/// Ruelah.

Home built:
2.8GHz - Hyperthreading On
Dual SATA HDD - RAID 0
1.5GB RAM (1500MB)
ATI 9800 Pro 128MB Video RAM
Windows 2000 sp4 + hotfixes

Extreme minimum services and background applications running.
I do have *many* very unusual peices of software installed for developing and such, but properly controled, make no difference ;)

Homemade box:
Athlon 3000+
1GB mem
Asus A7N8X-E deluxe mobo
Asus 6600GT 128 vid card
game stored on separate drive with page file set at 1024-2048

Had one CTD early on a large map and another when victory screen opened.
After patch, one big crash with changing to nice earth tones. None since. No stutter on wonder movies. Some delay while computer does other civs, had that with civ 3 too.

I, too, have palyed civ since my Amiga 500. Bought Civ 2 before I even had a Wintel computer.

Patch 109

No crashes since the patch.

I don't know about great, but Civ 4 runs quite well on this:

P4 2.6 GHz
1.5G PC2700 RAM (actually 2x512 of PC3200, 2x256 of PC2700)
128 MB ATI radeon 9200
120G Hard Drive

All the wonder movies run fine and everything seems to be ok.

I've patched it and haven't had a single crash in many hours. I am new to Civ so I have only been playing standard maps w/ 6 civs.

I have, pentium 4, 2.4ghz, 512mb ram, Gforce ti4200 (64mb), (fresh install tested on both win XP and win 2k) and I can not play the game even on the smallest maps with the lowest graphic options. Therefor I beleive you will run into problems with this game with your computer specifications.

Athlon 64 3000+
ASUS K8V SE Deluxe Motherboard
1GB DDR RAM
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB with Catalyst 5.12 driver
SB Live! Value
Antec SLK3700-BQE case with stock Antec 350W Power Supply
Windows XP Professional with SP2

The game runs reasonably well with older drivers (e.g. 5.6) but when I started using the newer ATI drivers (5.12) the game chugs very slowly (for example, pressing ctrl-T to bring up the grid would've taken about 5 seconds on the 5.6 drivers but with the new 5.12 drivers it takes literally 2 minutes to load) - just wondering if anyone can replicate this problem? It's quite annoying since I need the latest driver for other games :/.

I have a Amd Athlon 1800+ (1,533gt)
VIA KT226 A motherboard (socket A)
512mb memory
ATI RADEON 9800pro with the latest catalyst driver
And Win2k.

I've played two games on huge maps so far and the game runs smoothly with all settings at Max up to about 1400-1500 AD (when the map is almost full of citys) and then it gets constantly slower untill about 1800 when it's impossible to play with even a slightly wider view of the map. I haven't played any games with smaller maps, but I bet a standard map would run smoothly all the way to the end. After two weeks of gaming I've had only one CTD. The wonder movies where quite a disaster untill the patch solwed it for me. Now the only issue is performance.. ..And I'm guessing that adding more RAM would make a great deal of difference. 1-1,5 GBs of RAM should be enough for a smooth game on a huge map.

cpu: celeron 2
mainboard:asus p4s8x-x
videocard:ati radeon 9550 se 256 ram

soundcard:on board

No crashes,I've been playing a huge map
