I have been a Civ fan since the first installment of the series came out in the early 90's. Up until Civ 5, I have loved every release as each grew upon each other, building upon each other, fueling the fire for my addiction to the Civ game.

Then...

When Civ 5 was released, I played... and waited... and waited... and shortly discovered the true direction that Civ was heading. Into a Farmville DLC type of game. Let me cut to the chase.

I'm now almost 30 years old, and the more I think about it, the more I'm greatfull that Civ 5 did not deliver as it should have. Because now I can finally move on with my life to more important things that someone my age should do, and stop sitting on my ass in front of a computer for the next 5 years until Civ 6 is released.

Civ 5 has been my blessing in disguise.

I agree with KingYosef, it has freed up so much time, I didn't thought that was imaginable.

So I started the new FM, and I got even more time.

Where's that whipper-snipper...

Let him enjoy his freedom... no need to get angry

Well, I partially agree with him. I can't play the game due to steam and unknown bugs... I give up! On one side, I'm eager to play the game like previous civ (I started with civ3). On the other side, I think, it may be a blessing so that I won't spend time for civ anymore. Seeing from the rampant rants here, maybe it really is a blessing .

Like sitting in a cubicle working for an uncaring corporation?

He probably talks about freetime and everyone knows that recreation television is a more intellectual activity than gaming. Games are addictive, violent and anti-social. Gamers are teenagers with acne and glasses. So they say, so it must be.

I really dislike people who think that just because you hit 30 you're suddenly to old for video games. Are you to old for sports? How about cards? Dominoes? Chess?

I'm 34, I love video games. It's how I spend my free time; I dont watch tv. My fathers 55; he still plays video games. My brother, 35. Best friend, 34. Fiancee, 32.
How old is Sid?

You are never to old to game, anyone that thinks otherwise needs to grow up.
