So I'm trying to make a folder with the entire Civ5 sountrack. I do not have the digital deluxe version of Civ5 and I don't believe BNW has any SKU with a free soundtrack, so outside of G&K I have a bunch of OGG music files.

I have a decoder pack (Satsuki's) which does support OGG. It comes with the RadLight OGG splitter which AFAIK hasn't had a new version released since 2005. I have buffer set to high to avoid skipping when replaying OGG files.

however, I noticed the longer pieces (Copeland's Mytown) don't play properly and I have to manually tweak the progress bar in windows media player for the music to come through.

Anyone have experience with this? Any recommendations?

Also I want to eventually convert these to MP3s so a recommendation of a conversion software would also be welcome.

You don't need to convert nearly any leader theme - just go to Michael Curran's and Geoff Knorr's websites and download it from there. You will need to mess about with the source code to find the MP3 files, but you can easily find them, and they come with all the album data too!

There you can find the entire BNW's soundtrack, the entire G&K's soundtrack (but as you noted, that's not needed), nearly all of the DLC's soundtrack (I think Genghis Khan is the only one missing) and a big chunk of Vanilla's soundtrack (well, leader themes, there's no, say, Elipse or anything)
