now this isnt a GREAT idea but read it anyway.I was thinking that in one era a player could be an aincent civ,and in the next eras they could "evolve" into more powerful civs with uu's and abilities.I'd like this idea because it's kindof odd being the states or other more moden civs in 4000bc. anyway heres my list.note that some of these civs arent in the game but i would like them to be muhahah

Ancient/medevil civ uu industrial/modern civ UU

Rome Legion - Italy italian infantry?
mecodanian hoplite - greek dunno
baybalon bowman - Iraq? Terrorist
Aztecs jaguar warrior - mexico Jaguar assault infantry
Iriquios mounted warrior - Canada mountie
cherokee native hunter - America F-15?or something better
teuton teuton knight(aok) - Germany panzer or waffen ss
franks axeman - France dunno
carthage numadian mercenary - Libya dunno
Maya javelin thrower - Venezuala?
Inca chaquisqi scout - Brazil unlisenced taxi
Celts Gallic swordsman - Ireland
english man-o-war - Great Britan Churchill tank
tartar better horseman? - Russia Soviet infantry or spetznaz
vikings berserk AND Longship - Sweeden or norway
Arabia ansar warrior - Saudi Arabia
Byzantines Dromon - Austria?
Ottomans saiphi - Turkey

Now I know a lot of these civ's don't match but I thought of them off the top of my head. The one problem I'd have with this is city names?Should the change?or just the capitol?

Had an idea like this in the American UU topic:

I like the concept, definitely. Coming up with names for the civs in each age would be tricky for some that havent been around for all of history though. And although some civs might have been around in a given geographical area (Aztecs) that does not mean they resemble anything other than by the most remote suggestion a modern nation in their lands (Mexico). It sounds iffy to evolve a civ into another by this method, but it might work.

Yeah, such civ evolving isn't exactly realistic, but it sure is more realistic than a stone age USA or a space power Sumeria.

lol ur ideas for improvements are a bit vague bt im sure fraxis have some better researchers that are paid for it (no offence:D)

very good suggetion, but ehh this:
''vikings berserk AND Longship - Sweeden or norway''
It should be Denmark it rulez the north, why it shouldent be norway?
Answer. norway had been under danish control 4 long time in history until denmark lost it in the napoliantic war.
Um yeah sweden good enough but denmark is better (please notice im a danish man:D)
