CIV Gold 2.0 - Announcement

I am just wondering but could you add Iceland if it has not already been added to the Civ Gold???

This weekend will be a big one in terms of coordinating and completing some content. Then a few days to test and tweak...I'm guessing between June 23-27. It could always be sooner, but we want to make sure the UU balance is correct and, to avoid the pitfalls of 1.0 borders, make sure the color vals are different enough for each civ (quite a challenge, as we'll have almost 60 civs).

Unfortunately Sevo and Amra already have full plates in terms of LH work (plus, they both have their own modpacks to work on).

We could consider it for 3.0 (which will have Warlords material to work with), provided that Sevo and Shqype don't tell me to jump off a cliff by then. :)

I know I won't ... can't speak for Sevo though ;)

I've got a question though, are all the unique units really just reskins, as in no model changes of any sort?

So far, yes. Funny enough, I just downloaded some of your units a few hours ago to use in this (I want to try to work in the ethnically diverse units).

Most of the re-skins came from the original mods, with a few edits. It's hard to do unique models for so many new civs.

P.S. the UU for Leaders is almost done, it will be in the next version of the CCP

Stop the presses! Are you saying you're going to make it so that unique units will be per-Leader, as opposed to per-Civ? 'Cause that would be sweet. :bounce:
 
not per say, its a wrapping around Civ based UU, the leader can have their own indipendent UU list and still recive thouse that come from the Civilization. See my post a bit earlier for more detailed explination

Unfortunatly at the 11th hour I stated hitting some major hurdls. I finaly realized that UnitTypes are loaded after the LeaderHead and you thus I would need to re-organize XML loading and delay LeaderHead reading untill after UnitTypeInfo leading so they could properly reference them. (I realize now that the order of these loads place constraints on what kind of referencing tags can be added to which files. You cant reference something on a file which hasn't been loaded yet) But I am now running into a crash at dawnofman I cant expaline, well back to the drawing board.

P.S. Whial I was looking at the code I realized that the Warlords "Unique Building for each Civ" feature already exists, its simply not being used in the default assets. You should be able to create new BuildingTypes give them an existing BuildingsClass and put them on the Civ under the <Buildings> tag in a similar manor to the <Units> tag. You should then have unique buildings.

Ah I see. That's a great idea, I hope you figure out that crash.
 
Are there any chances of seeing a Byzantine Civilization at some point? I love the current Civ Gold and can't wait to see the upgrade.

Alexius I, I have a Byzantine civ HERE. It is included in my modpack and, of course, Civ Gold is more than welcome to incorporate it into the mod. :D
