The more I discover just how mediocre I am at Civ 3, the more I realize just how much I love Civ I....

So simple...so addictive...so...FUN! :grad:

Civ 1 was the original, I never liked Civ 2. Civ 3 is great due to the concept of cultural influence.

The other civ game I also loved was Master of Magic, I've recently spent countless hours to run it with sound under Win 2000 and finally I could play it again - still a great game!

I also play Civ 1 often, and MOM but have it on an old 386 in the basement, can't seem to get it to play on XP or even Windows95 on a pentium 100 that I use to play civ 1 on. There are expanded/extended memory issues. There are sites on line, I found some using Google, that proport to address these issues, but I have not had any luck following what they want me to do. Just functionally computer illiterate.

I bought (actually a present for my Birthday) Age of wonders II The wizard's throne, which is supposed to be sort of an update of MOM. Still, if there is to be a MOO3, there might be a MOM2.

I was at electronics boutique in Seattle this afternoon, and asked about when MOO3 might be released, was told, March, but then they looked something up and said the release date was alleged to be January 15th. This is still vaporware, until I see it, but I spent some time looking at the Prima book on MOO3 and it looks interesting enough to buy, if they ever get it out the door.
