It's German, so for you non-German folks: He states he has it their in his store and can send it immediately!!!

I know I COULD have made this up, but trust me, I didn't!! I can forward the mail, if you don't believe me (just pm me...)

HAVE TO FIND A SHOP IN HAMBURG, who has it?? Any Germans from Hamburg here who have a clue????

Great news - Yup, the Game arrived in Germany today! It's a totally localized version, so you better improve your German out there :D , and it sells at 49.99 Euro.
The shop owner told me 2K pre-released the German version to be ahead of AoE 3, which will arrive early November.

Not great news - game crashes on my PC all the time a new world is customized. I'll try to get the Customer support on phone this afternoon, otherwise I'd be very (in words: very!) thankful for any, any, any advice!

Raw of the deal - the game is shipped on DVD, so no more CD changing! Big manual, about 200 pages. Large map with tech tree on one side, infos about units, etc. on the other.
Nice rendering intro and a altogether smooth interface look. Intro music of Civ 1 when world is customized, sigh ...

Well, as soon as I get it running, I'll leae my first impressions here. Early bird conquers the world!

on the PC-Fun site they say you can install the game with English language from DVD as well...

When are you going home then??? Would be early enough if it's before 16:45h ;) Oh; and thanks a lot!!!
Maybe we should continue this via pm? We shouldn't thread-jack here

Cool, I felt bad for your Europeans if you weren't going to get it until Nov 4th. Now we can all play and no one will be whining about not having the game yet. :goodjob:

Got the call back from EB-games in Zurich, Switzerland. They say they can sell it to me immediately and that they already reserved a copy for me!

In case someone from Zurich is interested: It's the one in the Neumarkt Center in Oerlikon (formerly PC-JOY).

I'm off to get it!

Not everyone is Europe is getting it by 28th. Spare a thought for people outside of Germany and Switzerland.

and not everyone is in us/europe

I just called EB Games here in Switzerland and they say they have it in stock but don't know whether they can sell it today, tomorrow or on friday. He'll call me back.

I keep you updated!

I just called EB Games in Zurich as well and they said they have 43 pieces being unwrapped as we speak...... (well, there are only 42 left cuz I reserved one ;) to be picked up and played this evening!!!)

I think I just heard the sound of thousands of crazed brit civfans jumping on the Eurostar. I'll just wait patiently for my US version to arrive.

Good news again - it's definitely an international version, not only a German one. So, everyone living in Central Europe might want to give Germany's economy a boost ... ;)

Bad news again - de-installed and re-installed the game, this time the English version, updated my graphic card driver, shut down antivirus program and firewall, still crash after world is customized, right when the game should start.

That absolutely sucks. That's one of the reasons I often prefer console games, you get a game home and you know you'll immediately be able to play it. I can remember several times throughout my life as a PC gamer getting something home only to find something wrong with it, it's an awful feeling. Good luck!
