There's another spreadsheet somewhere around here (yours?) for Civ4 and Warlords that I liked a lot, matched up well with the one I made before Warlords came out. When I saw someone was doing a better job of it, I stopped updating mine.
Of course, not everything was exactly how I liked it, but with Excel being an editable format, I was able to make whatever changes I wanted, and add in a few bits from my own sheet.
Asking you to conform the whole document to my needs would be rather unreasonable of me to ask, especially since my needs change, but I didn't think an Excel file would be a big request, since there was already most of the work done, and Excel can do anything you've already done in that PDF, plus be able to edit it or adjust the lists' order on the fly, or rapidly reach any list with a single click. PDFs can be made out of other file formats, but the reverse is not always true.
I don't like PDF because it's too unwieldy to use, can't be edited without spending obscene amounts of money (most computers come with a spreadsheet program, none come with PDF-editing), they're a PITA to edit (and not on the fly either), and suck up entirely too much memory. They're not especially fast to use either. I like my screen real estate to be used for information; I can display about 4 times as much useful information, and scroll through it faster if it leads off the screen, by using Excel instead of PDF.
With all those advantages, I can't see why the average person would want to use PDF at all. But there are plenty of people whose computers don't come with a free spreadsheet, and it's much easier to find a free PDF reader than a free Excel reader, but that's more a vocal minority and Adobe shoving it down people's throats.
I'm not trying to rag on you and your fine work - the PDF is beautiful and looks very complete - I couldn't think of anything it was missing. However, referencing it is slow, both because the information is presented in a space-wasting manner and because PDFs are by nature slow to use. If I were to have it open while playing the game, it would take up too much precious RAM and slow down things even more, and if I were to print it out (with I'm anethema to do anyway) it would cost a small fortune for a game I don't even get to play that much.
