"Civ V has stopped working" every time I update one particular trade route

I've never had any games and definitely not Civ V crashing before. I open my save (it's a really long game) and everything loads quick and is fine, until I try to establish a trade route when it just crashes every time. I've had this and many other trade routes before and no such thing had happened.

FWIW I have iTunes, Spotify and Steam running while I play. Computer specs:

Processor 3 GHz Intel Core i5-4430
RAM 8 GB SDRAM DDR3
Hard Drive 1024 GB SATAIII
Graphics Coprocessor NVIDIA GeForce GTX650Ti
Graphics Card Ram Size 1024 MB

Same problem here. The caravan in the capitol will make the game crash when it's directed to a nearby city-state (edit: or city of my own). It's a pretty trade-focussed game with my character and wonders combination. DirectX and Ati Catalyst drivers were updated to latest (stable) version but the problem persists.
