A poll with only 2 options, choose from good or bad. Worse than newspeak, not even plusgood or plusbad on offer here. Oh well CFC is still better than facebook - say you like it or keep your mouth shut. Still I doubt it'll be long before the first poll here with just 1 option "Civ 6 is the best game ever!"

III will probably long be my favorite because I am first and foremost a buider of empires... I don't want some dainty 20 city spread. I want to crush it.

III also has the best unit naming mechanism, I find its editor is the easiest for me to use, the start up (such as choosing opponents or restarting) doesn't enrage me, and, while I love the tactical improvements from 1upt, I still prefer a stack of doom to a carpet of death because of movement and parking issues. A 1upt carrier battlegroup is just ... no fun.

Well... that escalated quickly.

Civ 5 to civ 4 makes me want to cry. Civ 6 to civ 5 makes e want to clap my hands. Civ 6 to civ 4... Yet to be determined ;)

Edit: i did also play civ 2 and 3 and what i can tell you from those games are... Bring back leaders changing outfits with era and designing your own throne room/palace!

Edit 2: also, for civ 6 to outshine civ 4 Haralds greeting has to be better than (from memory the first part) "well met stranger! So tell me, does India have a lot of unprotected coastal cities or what?" from Ragnar.

And bring back the advisors from 2!!! They could be animated instead of real live action, but at least make them to say cool, funny (but useful) things, make them live not static!

I think my reaction to 6 will be much like my reaction to 5: Civ 5 is by far my favorite of the series, but they got the balance horribly wrong in so many places. With elaborate modding, Civ 5 is an absolutely fantastic game, and I do think Civ 6 will be an overall improvement on 5, but I also think it will take some time and big overhaul/modding before it gets there. That's what my gut tells me.

That's going to be the big reveal on Saturday

I can't remember if I played before IV, but I do certainly remember hating the stacks of death in IV and loving the addition of hexs and 1UPT in V. I don't remember having issues with Vanilla V, but I certainly loved the expansions and now playing with Acken's balance mod it is even better. My only issue with V is the AI which did not handle 1UPT well.

I am greatly anticipating the city districts and hoping they have managed to improve the AI so it at least doesn't do such stupid things with it's units. That and a more modern graphics engine that I don't have to watch load all the textures every time I focus the game window. (Hopefully it will be a true 'windowed' full screen that will let multi display users like myself do other things seamlessly like check my email without totally freaking the game out.)

I have been at this since Civ II. And I like how each installment has it's own special charm. In Civ II there was the lovable advisors, the wonder movies that showed real footage of the actual wonder, Some of the techs like highways, And the music was cool. Civ III and expansions in my view is pound for pound the most realistic of the series. In terms of sound, realistic battle outcomes, the gallop of horse units, and watching the ships sailing at sea. Amphibious warfare was at it's best. The smooth jazz during the modern age was cool. I loved how the leaders wore the clothes of every particular era. Still the best Space Victory scene of the series. And who doesn't miss telling other Civs to "Get out of my territory". Civ IV and Civ V also have their moments.
What I like about Civ VI is it continues this pattern of having it's own distinct characteristics. The visuals make it look fun to play for anyone. The comical appearence of the leaders and the Robot Chicken like animations of some of the units allows for a sense of humor. Christopher Tin's intro score sounds pretty epic(I wonder if anybody has a link for the full piece/concert). If there is any negative, it would be the absence of Babylon, Persia, and Assyria. This is the area considered the cradle of Civilization itself. Strange that the new game only has 2 Civs from the region. But all in all this new installment looks very impressive. I have no doubt that Civilization VI and expansions will be highly successful. It will be a thrill to speak softly and carry one hell of a big stick. One More Turn

What I see so far of Civ VI I like. I look forward to playing it very much. I'm really looking forward to a TSL map of Earth and some regions. I do wonder how much of the game will be repetitive but that's true for any game.

That there are some crawling back out of the woodworks, gleefully anticipating filling the map with urbanization (ala SimCiv, non-conquest of course) and that could be a thing does not bode well for this version.

I cat say anything until I have played the game. But so far, nothing has come close to civ 4. With the mod pack of Total Realism Invictus, I don't see anything topping it. Although as a base game? I am hopeful for civ 6. Civ 5 was quite disappointing.

I have reservations but it's still too early.

I've played since Civ II. V has grown on me; but I'm one of the ones who thinks IV was the best in the series.

And VI? It looks awesome :D
I think Beech n co are doing a kick ass job of making a game with depth and nuance. I suspect once the dust settles that VI will be better than IV.
