Civ VI Funny/Strange Screenshots

What the... same game, just a few turns later. Note that Trajan and Dido are not at war (nor is Trajan and Shaka), yet he somehow still ended up with Sidon in the last turn, despite his empire being far away from here

Basically Shaka first captured Sidon from Dido, then was unable to maintain the loyalty for it so it flipped back to being a free city, which was then on the verge of flipping back to Dido whilst she somewhat haplessly attacked it to lower the city centre's hit points. Then I can only presume that while it was at low health, some Roman caravel or whatnot came in from the northeast and just stole the city under everyone's nose. I could see a human player pulling off a stunt like that but I'm not sure I've seen a mess like this play out between 3 AI civs before

Not that it'll really matter since Dido will obviously get it back in the end from loyalty pressure at this rate but yeah, pretty interesting nonetheless

That sounds like an ambitious captain or admiral saw a chance to make a name for himself.

In my hands, I would probably subsequently sell the city to whichever civ pays the most, taking the ransom reward for returning the city to "rightful rule".

I would then keep the ship around for a bit longer to see if I could double dip.

This is what happens when you have a few beers, a text editor, and a playlist featuring "They Might be Giants" songs. I was playing a new game as Scotland, and did a "reveal all" before going to bed. This is the Ottoman capital:

I'm gonna make this change permanent though, it makes me smile.

Jeez, thanks for the STELLAR start, Mr. RNG.

I don't know man, volcanic soil yields are awesome. I'm in medieval era in my first GS game (max activity btw) and from just two eruptions this volcano I have already got like 8 combined yields on each of two tiles, most of them being food and production. I'll happy send a builder back to build a new pasture + mine every once an era for that.

Is this what they call 'Power projection'?
Spoiler :
Bruised CS warriors decided to outsource fighting to the ferocious tundra corn unit and oversee the operation from friendlier climes:

My first Maori start and... well these are some impressive yields by turn 4 in the game. Right on the Great Barrier Reef and literally started in vision of both La Venta and Vilnius so that I got to see their initial settlers on turn 0 before the cities were founded. So those are about the fastest free envoys one can ever get as well

I have some doubts about the historical accuracy of the blatant full-fledged canals in the city centres by 4000 BC though but that's a different matter

I didn't know TMBG covered that song. I've always loved the Ella Fitzgerald/Bing Crosby version.

New wonder: the Canal Tunnel! We're still working on the details but it will be awesome! (I have no idea what's going on there).

Your flood barriers betray you! When you started that line it was just on lowland plains, but then, ah then, you just built a few coal plants too many! Now look what became of the original Pangaea you all were given to enjoy and cherish!!!
:)

Those will be some lovely terrace farms, if you don't mind rebuilding them periodically.

Well I just finished a disaster level 4 old world Inca game with hills and mountains everywhere and I had several cities right next to volcanoes and I don't think I ever lost more than 2 population per eruption. Of course getting a bunch of districts damaged is annoying but yeah the tile yields that the terrace farms rack up over time on those volcanic soil tiles surrounded by mountains is simply absurd. Sure you need to rebuild them every so often but seriously you can get 10+ food plus some hammers from just a single tile like that

What good are yields when a volcano destroys your cities every 50 turns? Madrid barely can reach pop 4 before another disaster hits it again.
