Natural flood barriers and Man-made

I love how India has tried to dam off the ocean (top center). :mischief:

funny screenshots here! :D:)
also reminding me how stinky the graphics are when you play on an old mac like me

No, it's not some 'Panama Canal' in a stupid location. Legend has it, King Gilgamesh once bellowed at the top of his lungs: "By Gods, I'm so thirsty, I could drink a lake!". His subjects did not bother to record the circumstances of the event for posterity, they were too preoccupied with getting busy at once. The result of their heroic efforts was the Great Ur-Uruk Aqueduct, which now keeps the King properly hydrated at all times.

Well, to be fair, if they could just throw a canal in next to that encampment at the bottom, then that's a really cool Panama Canal spot.

.
I think this qualifies as a "strange" screenshot -- a location for the Panama Canal which is actually useful !

In all the games I've played since that wonder was added this is the first time I could really take advantage of it allow access to other port cities. Finally!

I traveled around the world but in the end got surprised by barbarian boats. I got promoted but it didn't matter...

Mvemba sailed the ocean blue back in 1936
With his navigation true and his admiral for kicks.
Homeward bound then with his crew and his canny bag of tricks,
When a fleet of quads appeared, and he was sh***ing bricks!

This wonder, along with Golden Gate, are so hard to actually make useful.

I've made useful canal systems, but it usually involves playing a fractal map, and not the Panama Canal, because the AI places that in the BEST locations before I can.

I've never built both of those wonders. There was once on TSL Earth I found a place to build Golden Gate but the AI finished before me.

I have never built Golden gate and will probably try on a TSL. I have gotten Panama a few times, but rarely anywhere impressive.

I've never really used Golden Gate as an actual bridge, but it's great at boosting tourism, and I've used it for that

Droughts are bad, but I love turn 1 flooding and catastrophic volcanoes! You don't have anything to lose and I'll gladly take the bonus yields (and free +1 era score when you first farm a flooded terrain).

In my current Aztec game I built it between Vancouver Island and the mainland for no better reason than because I could. :p It's doing literally nothing for me--I have no parks or resorts in the city, and there's nothing on the island except Neighborhoods--but it looks kind of nice. :p

I want to do TSL and put it between Gibraltar and Tangier. That would be a nice place for it :P
