I just bought CIV VI from Green man gaming for a whooping 20% discount, and thought I should inform the rest of the community about this sale.

It's only selling at a 10% discount now. Ah well.

If Civ6 is released on October, what are chances of it being on christmas steam sale in December?

Depends on how well it sells at release ;)

But seriously, rising tide was released this time last year, and was 15% off at christmas. Minecraft story mode was also released in october last year, and likewise was 15% off at christmas. But these are smaller games than Civ V.

Fallout 4 however, is much bigger, and was released in november last year. It wasn't on sale for christmas, but was 17% off from boxing day.

Civ VI will be pretty much guaranteed to be discounted at some point by some amount, at least 10%, over the christmas period. Steam will make sure of that.

GreenManGaming is reliable for that stuff. I got Fallout 4 for $48 and the season pass for $24 on Christmas Eve. GMG always puts new games on sale (to ensure more sales, I guess), especially during the holidays.

Pretty high actually. If not on Steam, then certainly on third party sites.

But I assume it's going to get a discount in the Christmas Sale, Beyond Earth and Rising Tide both went on sale not too long after their release.

What I doubt is that we'll get a discount that is much bigger than the 20% deals we're seeing every now and then atm.

A pre-order sale or 20% is a pretty good discount. Of course there will be other sales after release, maybe as early as Thanksgiving or surely Christmas. And next year probably 50% at some point. But it's all a game of time vs discount and then I think 20% pre-order is a very nice offer. Now the only question is whether to take the regular or the deluxe ...

"Writing Bull" ((Ex)Journalist, youtuber and moderator at the German Civforum.de) cooperates with an internet shop named "Gamesplanet", which seems to be completely respectable.

They give a 20% discount already.
However, if you enter the shop via WB's website and use the vaucher WB provides there, you'll get an additional 5% discount (that's what WB negotiated with them; he forgos his own share in doing so).

I think, 25% is a really good deal (27% is obviously better, but who knows, whether or not this will happen again) and I pre-ordered the extended edition in order to get the related DLC cheaper, too (I don't care about the music).

However, there is no need to hurry, as this offer will stay until the 3rd of October.

Might be a stupid question, but is it 100% certain that the pre-order bonus will be applied if you buy from a third party website?

I did just buy Civ V complete on GMG for $12.00.......now my kid and I can play on local multiplayer.....

Likely but it will be the same or less than we have seen currently. I highly doubt anyone sees a bigger discount until 2-3 years down the road.
