Civ VI Religion.

they have said that the demos they were using were a month old, Iv'e also heard them talk about various lenses for religion, and since its a victory condition it would weird to not have the button when you have the others.

They were playing around with it in the dev liveplay video. One of them showed the amount of pressure being exerted from various cities and city-states

I can bet that apostles are the religious archaeologists in Civ VI
I've heard you use them to add new beliefs and make relics, relics being the religious great work, I wonder how Prophets will be used if Apostles do add beliefs.

I saw some of it, did they show how you convert cities? is it by district or just the city center.

So far Prophets ONLY found a religion.

However, I could see Prophets eventually being used to generate bonus Apostles.

they must have more uses, either for theological combat or generating units like missionaries, It seems the Live-stream left more questions than answers.

I don't think so. I saw a gameplay screenshot from the press event, which showed the GP screen and Great Prophets were no longer available, because all of them have been purchased. This in combination with the huge amount of great prophet points accumulated in the brazil-reveal, could mean that they don't have another use currently. but i'm quite positive it will be added in a future build.

I think Religious victory will be fun as hell (is that a curse these days? I got pinged recently bout my language...)

Think about it. You develop your own custom religion and you try to spread it around the world and stomp every other religion out. It's definitely aggressive and that's what I like about it. Until now the only real directly aggressive play was with military. It would be interesting to see an aggressively military civ go up against an aggressively religious civ. What is it with me and "aggressive" anyway?

5. Do we know what a player can do with GP points gained after founding his/her religion? I saw somewhere that player had 827/80 or something like that GPPs, and could not do anything with them.

It seems like once you've founded your religion, you can't do anything with your Great Prophet points until every religion possible has been founded.

The problem with that Brazil player in the footage you saw was... he was the only Civ in the game! Either he started the game that way or he eliminated all of this enemies, meaning he had already won the game. Either way, because there were no rival Civs on the map, no one could found the remaining religions, hence why his points just kept piling up forever.

The victory progress menu: http://imgur.com/a/ZvjYU

Also outlines the new victory conditions of Science and Culture victories. It's been in one or two videos, I know I saw it in Quill18's Let's Play but I'm not sure of the exact part/time.

Thanks for the image. I also watched a few videos that showed victory conditions but I don't remember seeing Religious Victory. Its odd how they have buttons at the top of the screen for score, science, culture and domination but not for religion. Maybe it's just not fully implemented yet.

Something I'd like to see in Civ6 is religious priorities rather than just preferred religion--after all, quite a few civs have other religions that would also make sense if their top choice is taken. For example, Persia might prefer Zoroastrianism first, but Eastern Orthodoxy and Islam would also make sense. India might prefer Hinduism, but Sikhism and Buddhism would also make sense. England might prefer Protestantism but Catholicism would also make sense. This obviously doesn't apply to every civ, but it would be nice. If different leaders do happen, it could also be interesting to switch up their priorities--Gandhi prefers Hinduism, but Ashoka prefers Buddhism; Victoria prefers Protestantism, but Alfred the Great prefers Catholicism. I also feel like there ought to be a more elegant solution than assigning modern religions to ancient civs--it never quite feels right that Ramesses founds Islam or Hiawatha or Shaka found Protestantism, for example. (Although with Hiawatha you can at least gloss it as the Longhouse Religion, an indigenous Iroquois Protestant denomination--sort of.) Since there seems to be an assortment of generic symbols, I'd actually prefer they used those.

I remember India taking Sikhism after Hinduism and Buddhism were taken, in Civ V I used Tengriism as the native Americans (Great Spirit:Shoshone, Jaguarism: Aztecs) like when did the Huns ever found a Religion? (he did once he got desert folklore and stole Tithe and all my favorite beliefs) and I never liked Ramesses, Darius or Dido founding Islam, likewise the Celts founding Catholicism.
