"...Firaxis has zero control over the Civ2 source code. Im not even sure who owns it right now (probably Atari or Take2)."
Ok, now that it's settled that Firaxis does not control the code I think we should move on to Atari and Take2 as Soren says. I replied to his email and asked if he knows of any contacts I could send the petition to but he has not responded back as of yet.
If so then why don't you start a petition for the Civ1 source code? The people who signed this one are interested in getting the Civ2, not the Civ1 source released. (So Civ1 can't just be added into the petition, if that's what you're tying to say.)trada said:Dude, I bet there's more people in this world longing for an optimized civ1 rather then a better civ2.
Civ2 just took Civ1 and added functionality that was dearly needed in Civ1 and made it more user-friendly (think of it as Civ1a--an idealized Civ1 if you will).RegentMan said:Civ I vs. Civ II is just like Civ II vs. Civ III: you'll have endless arguements, but no one will switch sides.
lots of stores make bad decisions, look at ncix,PrinceScamp said:Why? You can get two version s of civ2 for free off this site.
Only time I've seen civ1 for sale it was $25. YEs, I know, that store has made a couple of bad chocies, they still have several other games like simcopter for 25-40 $ CAD. THey also have a bunch of left over n64 stuff wich they can't get rid of either.
