Civ2: Test of Time - Advisor's Council?

It's been so long since I've played this version of Civ 2, and - unfortunately - I no longer have the discs for either Civ 2 or Test of Time. Was the FMV advisor council still in Test of Time, or did they pull them out when the UI and graphics were redone? I've forgotten, and I'm trying to decide if I need to pick up the $50 Chronicles box or the $15 95MB download from Gamestop.com.

They pulled the council (and the wonder movies and the heralds too).

You beat me to the punch, you swine. I think the official line was lack of space on the CD, rather than the change in interface. There are vestiges of the High Council in the main ToT directory in the form of a few text files.

I don't think they're vestiges of the council so as much as they are leftovers of earlier civ2 versions. I think they just couldn't be bothered to get rid of files ToT didn't actually need anymore. I believe MGE has the same thing too, a good number of useless files in its main directory.
