Civ3 in Win2K in QEMU in Linux

I'm currently attempting to install Civ3 in Windows 2000, which is running in emulation in Linux. When I run the Setup program, I receive the error "Setup failed to run installation: Class not registered." Has anyone seen this error before, and does anyone know what would cause this error?

I installed the kqemu kernel module this morning, and now the installer runs... it's currently installing, so I haven't had a chance to see if the game actually runs, but it's a good sign that the installer now works...

So apparently Civ3 somehow detects that it's being run in an emulator and refuses to run...

Oh well. At least Alpha Centauri runs beatifully in qemu.
