Civ3 PBEM

There's a couple of things I can think of:

1. Have Chamnix play his turn again and send it too me to play again.
2. Back up to the prior turn and try again.
3. Back up to the turn prior to Greekguy declaring war on me and have him wait a couple of turns before declaring (I'll continue to leave those cities unguarded)
4. Just declare the leader in score the winner and call it a day :D

My favorite is 2, but the idiot I am, I deleted my saves when I formatted my HD yesterday

Could you send me 320 AD again please DenyD? I believe it was the previous turn.

I have a feeling the problem goes back much further than the current turn. Something bad happened when denyd and I signed peace. Ever since then, the game has had problems whenever I tried to view certain screens.

GPS to denyd, but there is something wrong with the save. If I call up denyd and choose to look at active trades, not everything is mentioned. If I just go to F4, pick details, and then select denyd, the game crashes to the desktop .

I think it is now 20 turns since we signed peace so whatever deal we had that was causing the problem is expiring this turn. Ainwood fixed some corruption in the MTDG I save - maybe he or some other expert would be willing to help us out.

As I mentioned I do not have any save file left. Could one of you ask an expert?

I've kept all of the files I've recieved and sent if that'll help at all.

lurker's comment: Have you removed them from your e-mail account too? (if you use web-mail)

so, what are we gonna do about this game? could we try sending the save file to someone who could possibly fix it?

Chamnix: Did you notice any problems prior to us signing peace?

If not, I can either play that turn again without any military action occuring for a couple of turns before we sign peace or go ahead an continue the war.

I didn't notice any problems before then, but I have to say that replaying 20 turns doesn't have a lot of appeal especially with events such as a greekguy sneak attack during them.

I really wasn't planning on defending those cities anyway, so whenever they I got attacked they we're going to fall. Same as those on you NW coast. The only reason there was military there was to scout the area to help complete my map of the world. Once I got a galley to port, there we're destined for the homeland.

However, I do agree that replaying those turns doesn't sound like much fun. At our usual pace it would take until Christmas to get back to where we our now.

If some deal between the two of you expired and causes the game to crash, wouldn't it help to cancel the deal one turn earlier manually?

Is there any hope left for this one or should we get the pine box & shovels? :(

I'd like to be in the next one if you need a player.

I do not know, what everybodies feelings are here, but 20 turns back is horrible.

If you guys want to revive it I will follow, but basically my interest is quite low.

I'd rather start a new game to be honest.

I would also prefer to just start a new game (Cyc is interested in joining BTW).

This was mainly to allow Chamnix to check out War Weariness. I had a size 2 city riot last turn. It wasn't connected to my main road network, so it had no luxuries, but at size 2 should have still been fine. The unhappy person was saying "Give peace a chance". I also had a size 10 city with 4 unhappy even though I have 5 luxuries & a library and they were unhappy because (60% was too crowded & 40% were give peace a chance)

Considering that I just killed about 15 Carthage defenders and left about 20 units in his land, he should be feeling WW by now.

Since I doubt we'll be re-starting this one, just pass the file along to Chamnix for study.

Hi. :wavey:

I'd bite if you guys want another game.

Unless this is invitation only.

So far Calis, Cyc, Marsden & I are interested in a new SABER CIV 3 PBEM game.

Anyone else?

Any mapmakers out there want to take on this daunting task?
