Civ3 PtW patch

hi

i have a problem about the ptw 1,27 patch.i cant upgrade the game.i installed the game (ptw) it was working good.i played some and quit.and i wanted to upgrade it .i downloaded the patch.installed it and after my click the ptw icon there is an error about sound system or sound.dll.but game started. it was still the old version and the icons like new game changed to jan feb marc....: )).game is working but i need to upgrade it.i reinstall the game 3 times but every time i got the same error.
i need help.

Did you uninstall PTW before reinstalling? Sometimes that helps, by *forcing* the correct files to be reinstalled.

Did you use the right patch? I see on the corner of your screenshot that it's trying to play 1.01. I don't recall a 1.01 patch for PTW. (Although there could be one.)

And which patch did you use?

i m using PtW 1,27f patch.i downloaded it from here.i download both us and uk.at the beggining i installed the civ3 and after that i installed PtW.i was working and normal.the screens before the game was normal.i played the game for a while and i installed the us patch.and there was an error about sound.dll(but there was no error before the patch).game started and it was just like the image.
i unistalled the both games and cleared the remaining folder of infrogames.and installed the game again.but this time i used the uk patch.it was the same.i chanced the directory(c,d,e,f).it was still the same .i uninstall the game 6 times.nothing changed.
how can i fix that problem.??

PTW had different country versions. I would make sure you're using the same patch for 1.27 as you are for the game. This caused a lot of problems before C3C came out because people would get confused on which patch they needed.

Find out which version of PTW you have (And I don't remember how to do this, it's been so long since I"ve messed with PTW) and install the correct patch. If you're still having problems, let us know.

i have still problems.i downloaded alll the versions of the patch.every time i uninstalled the game and installed it.and upgraded the patch.nothing changed.but i download the 1,21f version and it is working.
i have no idea why is that but still i cant play the 1,27f version.

All country versions of the patch, or each patched released for your country version?

Well, at least you can play the 1.21.

Curious, are you installing PTW from a PTW disc, or is it Civ3:Gold or Civ3:Complete?
