I have a 3.3Ghz i5 Quad Core CPU on a Gigabit motherboard, 16GB memory, SSD, and an NVidia GTX660. I just reloaded Win7 on the system, installed all the motherboard and graphic card drivers, installed my Kaspersky AV, then installed Steam, and Civ5 BNW.
I have 1000+ hours playing Civ5 on this system before the reload, but never played BNW on it before the reload. FYI - I reloaded my system because I try to do it every year or so to keep the crap off the system and keep it clean and performing well.
I started Civ5 BNW the first time, started a new game and played 30 turns or so and saved the game. I exited Civ5 and came back late to load the game, but as soon as I clicked the load button (before selecting an actual saved game) the screen goes black and sits there until I hit Cntl-Alt-Del, then I get a Civ5 directx11 executable runtime error.
I verified the civ5 files via Steam, I verified that all the latest Win7 patches are on the system, I even disabled my AV but nothing works. I do not have any Mods loaded, just a vanilla install.
I also deleted Civ5 and steam off my system, restarted, and reloaded steam Civ5 but the same error happens again.
Any idea's?
