Sporaticus
Drooling Barbarian
I re-installed Civ5 recently because it would not start. After the re-install, it started without incident, and I thought everything was fine. Then, my RegClean Pro (a registry utility) started nagging me about not having scanned the registry in a week. Naturally, I ran the program and selected the "Fix Errors" feature. Then Civ5 would not start.....
Soooooo, I got on Steam, selected Games List from the View menu, right-clicked on Civ5, selected Properties from the dropdown list, clicked on the Local Files tab, and selected Verify Integrety of Game Cache. Sure enough, there were scads of files which had to be replaced. Fortunately, the replacement was automated. Afterwards, the game started just fine.
I am, therefore, inclined to conclude that the registry utility messed things up. Has anyone else encountered this issue?
