Civ6? Not Civ BE2?

Yeah, this. It's very unlikely they'd develop BE2 so close to BE, given Firaxis' tendency to both stagger and alternate main title releases.

We saw Beyond Earth and XCOM 2 in the time between Civilisation 5 and Civilisation 6. The XCOM 2 team aren't done with that game I don't think, and therefore there's still hope for a BE expansion. It's not likely that we'll see BE2 however, because it doesn't fit given the release schedule we've seen in the past few years.

This doesn't rule out a BE2 by any stretch, but I think it might be safe to say that it rules out a 2nd BE expansion, which some people had been hoping for.

I would guess there is a second BE expansion coming. They just needed to get VI out before the anniversary year was over. I doubt BE2 could be expected for at least a couple/few more years. I don't think they will leave BE unfinished...

Yeah, it's the 25th Anniversary. They need a Civ game, not a BE game.
