Thanks for the word "Civiatus". (The spelling nazi in me can't resist correcting it, even if it your coinage.) It describes well what I have done at least twice now. One of my reactions is to play small map games that go quickly, a major departure from my usual choices. Then again, I am also involved in a long succession game and this will be the second time the rules have changed mid game. Interesting difference.
