We have several civics options available, and if I remember back to the tech discussion the new civics was one of the main two reasons we pushed for Democracy.

So, are we going to use these newfound abilities? No time to open the game right now, if someone will post the options it will help.

As for timing, we can switch right now, before our GA kicks in. If we don't switch now, then we should obviously wait until after the GA, in which case it would be nice to know what new options, if any, will be available then.

I started a discussion about it here. I leave it to the citizens to decide where to continue the discussion.

I think we should wait with civic changes till after the Roman War, at least the first one, if there are to be two.

Having strongly promoted units would last us into the modern age, making all city garrison or city raiders depending on their specialty. I think it is time soon to leave vassalage, but please let us win over the Romans first.

A nice trick I've learned is to change civics at the end of a war. During the anarchy you don't have to pay unit away costs, and the war weariness isn't a problem at that moment.

I think we should do exactly that, change civics by the end of the Roman War.

We build Taj, it will be no good to have anarchy in GA. For the war we have good civics.

Taj right now; GA/units build; begin war when military possible; after GA gone

and no more units needed (what's last) and victory close, change civics.

Best regards,

I 100 % agree to the above mentioned plans, Civic change by the end of continental war (last two cities or so).
