I flipped most of the world - but it was after I pretty much was influential with everyone. The two major rivals were Netherlands Order and Sweden Autocracy - each had about -70/80 modifiers with -10 overall happiness by the time they switched, and it was at the very end of the game.
Hi dojo - I had the same question - am playing as Venice and The Huns (Autocracy) are at -44 (Revolutionary Wave) thanks to me passing the 'World Ideology: Freedom' resolution in the World Congress (though it took a bit of bribing and resource trading!) Am waiting to see what's happening to The Huns cities. I noticed one or two Barb. Lancers (thanks to my Diplomat in their capital).
Did you get any luck in your game the the rival Civ flipping ideology?
Typically as soon as I posted the previous reply and got back to my game one of the Hunnic cities revolted and I was offered the option to Puppet or Raze it plus the next turn they switched ideology to Freedom!
In a recent game as Poland, I gained 3 cities (1 Roman and 2 Iroquois), yet I could not pin it down to a definite tipping point. I won this game by timed victory.
In my last game as the Shoshone, I won a cultural victory. Four civs spent many many turns in civil resistance. None lost cities to me or India, or swapped ideologies. Their overall happiness had remained in the green.
