Civilization 5 Instructions to enable and install mods on Mac

I downloaded civ5 from the app store and am going crazy trying to find the civilization V mod folder. I have searched all the places you outline, but can only find the civ IV folders from my installation of civ IV, the cive 5 folders are NOWHERE to be found:-( can anyone help? I am running civ V gods & kings and Mac OSX 10.8.2

~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS/ or ~/Documents/Aspyr/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS/ depending on whether you have changed the setting to use the Library instead of Documents.

Not there, no folder ~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization 5 and no folder ~/Documents/Aspyr/

If you are running OS 10.7 (Lion) then Users/<your_name>/Library/ is hidden in Finder. Hold the Alt key down and select the Finder's Go menu. You will see Library as one of the options in that menu.

If you have followed these instructions correctly you should now be able to add and use civilization v mods on the mac.[/QUOTE]

I edited the menu.lua file and still do not get the mods menu option. I am really stuck here, back to civ 2 and the ww2 red front scenario for me I think:-(

Hi, welcome

I have created a new post that collects together inb one place the latest set of instructions for enabling and installing mods on a Mac.

Please check this out and see if it solves your problem.

I can't seem to find the mainmenu.lua file... I followed your instructions and got all the way up to opening the folder "FrontEnd", but all that was there was a folder called "Multiplayer". Sorry if I'm missing something pretty obvious...

Were you using the instructions in my latest consolidated instructions in the sticky thread at http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=477763 ?

If so, are you sure you are looking in the correct location?

The folder FrontEnd should contain multiple files and sub-folders. In a God & Kings installation there are two separate FrontEnd folders with files and folders.

There we go. I looked at your new instructions and got it right :)
Also, is there a way to get the mod browser to be able to install mods on a mac?

The post I pointed you to says:

You cannot install mods using the Steam Workshop. That only works for Windows users.
