I really like the civilization II music. Especially a tune called Mongol Hordes. I've been looking all over the net world for this stuff and I can't for the life of me find it. Does anyone at all have any idea where I can download this? If anybody has it, could you upload it to megaupload or something like that?

if you look through the file directory for wherever you have the game installed on your computer they should be in a folder

I've seen lists of the pieces that inspired the wonders music, but not the other tracks. The game developers implied that most of their music was "inspired by" or remixes of classical and popular pieces that already existed.

I don't know if the music I'm looking for is exclusive to Test Of Time. Besides, I don't even own the game, I just have a downloaded version of it. Are you sure you don't know anybody (here even) that has it for download somewhere?

This site discourages downloading the game or it's pieces without paying for it. CivII is still in stores and available on eBay for less than $10.

I saw one reference to a pay-to-download place, but I'm not clear on whether it is legit. I think it may have been around $15. eBay is usually the cheapest, just make sure what version you get.

I also like the Civ II music. The Civ IV music is nice in parts, but much of it is a little too draining and depressing for my taste.

Could anyone upload the Civ II music somewhere in .mp3 format?

I'm not certain if this would violate some sort of copyright law, but I very much doubt it would, and even so I doubt the composers of the Civ II music would object to some Civ IV fans using it for thier games.

For the record I do own Civ II and all the add-ons, but if you ask me where they are I have no idea. Things tend to get lost after a decade of movement.

yeah that would totally be nice I, I alwasy wanted to find Baldurs gate Music too but I could only find the original music:)
There is a lot of good stuff said about the Wonder Movies and Music in Civ 2 and I really want to see them :D
I can see movies on Youtube but not music :(

Would it be illegall acording to forum rules to upload some of the music in the game? I had the game for years ago, but I have lost the CD so I can't find it on my computer :(

It's not illegal if you create a mod using it... is it?
I was actually going to make a Civ 4 mod using Civ 2 music and some sounds. If it is illegal, then we're all in trouble. I can't tell you how many times I've seen mods made with Civ 2 / 3 pics and units imported from other games.

Hmm, not sure about that, but the OP stated that he was looking for a place to DOWNLOAD the music. If you take it from the game and use it in the mod, it is allowed... at least, it should be.

The built-in music is activated by the units, actions, and wonders of the game, whether the original ones or modded ones. You can copy the look of units from lower versions to higher versions because it's still all within the Civilization franchise. Ripping the music to use independently is what sounds questionable to me.
