I would like to see Firaxis provide a site where we can do more than just meet and play games by IP. I would like to see a site where games are saved on the game server and the host can then restart that game at a later date with the same people or new people.

The site would have basic information about the games that people could look at to see if it's a game they would be interested in a particular game.

Also, this site would be able to certify and record the results of those games.

The site would allow you to chose the victory requirements ahead of time.

Would you like to see Firaxis have a site where games can be saved and played later and the results certified and recorded?

Or perhaps you would just like to have a site where the games can be saved on a game server and played later but not have the results certified and recorded?

Maybe you would like the site to certify and record the games but not save them on a game server?

Then again, maybe you just want a place where you can meet and play games by IP.

Possibly you would like to see multiplayer included but you would be happy if they do it or not.

Finally, maybe you are one of those people that only plays single player and don't want Firaxis to waste any time on devising multiplayer capabilities?

Where do you fit in? Let me know.

Well, that sonds okay, but isn't it easier to just organize games ourselves? The saving feature works just as well on one's own computer...or have I missed the point?

CoH, the point is that this would avoid cheating between games and some information about it would be listed on the server so it would be easier to get people for a restart if some of the original players arn't there.

I see. Yes, cheating is a problem. I was thinking more along the lines of playing your friends, whom you know in r-e-a-l l-i-f-e, whatever that is! But a place like that would definitely be beneficial for games with people you don't know personally. Perhaps Firaxis could farm out the duty of maintaining/running it to a capable company, that way they could still devot their time to Civ 3 itself.

That's a fine idea BP.

But it's difficult to achieve....
