I've recently bought Civilization IV: Gold Edition and was wondering if it includes the expansions and if so why I can't seem to play them.

Civ 4 Gold contains the Warlords expansion; thus, normal gameplay will include everything Warlords has: Great Generals, Vassal States, a few more Civs/Leaders, and Warlords Scenarios. You may not have come across them yet for a few reasons: Vassal States need Feudalism to be an option, Great Generals are created through combat experience, so if you're a peacenik they may not show up frequently, and the new Civs/Leaders are integrated with the old ones.

Beyond the Sword must be purchased separately. Lastly,

WELCOME TO CIVFANATICS!

I have not missed anything indicating I have the Warlords expansion. Here's how I know: There is no Carthage, Celts, and Korean civilizations. I don't see a shortcut for Warlods either. I'm running in minimal requirements. I don't think that should effect anything, but I felt I should put that out there anyway. Is there a chance during the installation I unchecked something like, "Install Warlords expansion"?

Civ 4 Gold packages the first edition and Warlords in the same files; thus, there's no need to specifically install it. Strange that you're missing Carthage, Korea, and the Celts though, as those come with Warlords. Try reporting this in the Bugs Forum; you'll get better support than I can suppoer...:(

I found that the warlords runs off CD and Civ 4, Vanilla, is off the shortcut. Weird?

Hey man, nice bump. :p

What are you getting?

Probably his comment is about bumping a 3 year old thread

That's what I thought, but I spent the last three years of my life deploying and re-deploying, so I haven't been able to get on here and get involved again.

The answer to the 1st question 3 years ago, is Yes, warlords comes with Gold Edition.

The answer to the 2nd question that bumped this post, is No, it is not weird.
Create your own post if you have a question, don't use a 3 year old unrelated post.

Moderators, can you please close this post?

Sorry for the bump, but again, not all of us have been stateside for the past 3 years.

Back in North America, I don't know where you are, but point being, I was deployed on and off for 4 years straight so I really didn't come on here much and now I'm browsing through some of the first threads I can find to answer questions or review material.

Sorry again for the bump, don't raze my city.

It's ok. There was a topic in OT, from 2001, and someone bumped it. It still going now.

So "there shall be peace in our time?"

That means "Your head would look good on the end of a pole?"

That's weird, well old threads should be removed, but I can see why they're kept up too.
