Thanks for the tips Rob, I'll be considering them. I believe modern Burma is a military dictatorship so I'll go with that for the modern era.

Modern Bruma IS a military dictatorship. Technically it's "Myanmar" now. 
I think the "Generalassimo" look would do just fine.
