Civilization Request Thread

I confess, I was partly inspired by that mod because the Icelandic sagas tend to portray Swedes as incorrigible pagans. (The Swedes were the last Scandinavians to be Christianized, too -- over a hundred years after the others had given in; the legendary temple at Old Uppsala was destroyed in the mid-12th century.) Besides, having an ancient civ that's more familiar to Westerners and resistant to missionaries gives Faith-centered players another choice.
 
Oh, how I want to do Oceania at some point. To keep me busy, and ideas on uniques? No promises that it will be out soon, but it's been something I've thought about doing for a while.

Well I have not thought of a UA yet it would be based on the party's motto (peace is war freedom is slavery ignorance is strength).

As for the UB I thought perhaps the Minestry of Truth would be a good one.

And for the UU perhaps the Thought Police?
 
One way of thinking about 1984 is that unhappiness is outlawed; could do something about that.
 
I'd like to make some requests! I have a few civs I've come up with ideas for, so maybe someone with modding skill can do something with them.

I can do further research and some art also to help the projects along if someone's down with coding.

Hiram was at one point planning to make an Arawak civ, which for all intensive porpoises was pretty much going to be the Taino. Or at least, they made art for it. You might consider asking him if the Arawaks can be next in his civ production queue.

That's actually really good artwork, so there's nothing much else I could add to that.

I do have one more civ to add to the list though, so I might as well post it:

Bornu
Idris Alooma
Captured Capitals. Each foreign capital captured by the Bornu provides a weaker version of its original owner’s UA for the Bornu.
Ngazargamu
Colours - SaddleBrown and WhiteSmoke
Unique Unit: Kanembu Warriors. Replaces Pikeman. Cost: 90. Combat: 16. Movement: 2. Has a 10% bonus to combat strength when on the defensive.
Unique Improvement: Hostel. Unlocked at Banking. When built in another Civ’s territory (which does not replace/prevent other Improvements on the tile), extends the profit, range, and religious pressure of Bornu trade routes passing through the tile. A trade route can benefit from only one Hostel bonus.

I would really like to play as Vyse from Skies of Arcadia.
Title: Vyse the Legend of the Arcadian Empire
Unique Ability: United Front- All units gain an offensive and defensive bonus when next to another friendly unit.
Unique Unit: Blue Rouge- Flying Unit. Strength-52 Range-8. Requires no resources to train. Replaces fighter.
Unique Building: Skyport- Must research Guilds. Gold +25% and +10% production in town where it was built.
Those are just some ideas I have.
 
I'm actually looking at building a Salish team (in the early design stages,) which would encompass the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh and would employ a Potlatch UA.
 
Since I'm having such a hard time trying to adapt Kamarupa over from Anno Domini, I'd like to request either it or another Vedic Kingdom on the grounds that we have pre-Vedic civilizations (Harappa) and post Vedic civilizations (India pack, Sargon's civ, India itself) but no Vedic kingdom to bridge the gap.
 
What I've always wondered is how come no one has made a Madagascar civ yet. I mean, come on! It's a huge Island, I would have expected someone to notice it sooner.

Gedemo did a Kanem Bornu civ (post 3) with at least the same leader... you should check it out.
 
I know this is an old can of worms I'm bringing up, but I have an idea for an alternative, and more militarist themed Byzantine Civilization, led by Manuel I Komnenos.

Byzantium:
Civ Leader: Manuel I Komnenos
UA: Byzantine Politics: Reduces combat of enemy units fighting against your units if you own more units than your enemy.
UU: Kataphractoi: Replaces Horsemen, Similar behavior to Cataphract, except it sacrifices reduced combat penalty vs. Cities for slightly increased attack power (16 Strength vs. 15)
UU: Varangian Guard: Replaces Longswordsman, Auto Shock I & Cover Promotion.
