Civilization V ideas

I don't mean to be a pessimist, but I don't think we are going to find 50-some good voice actors for the leaders in Civ4 if a similar set was created for Civ5. I'll stick with Leonard Nemoy for the tech discoveries, and just unique animated leaderheads otherwise.

How about all those voice commands in different languages for units? That's 32 civs with about 16 commands I believe. In all cases most of those 50-some leaders are already dead so you don't reall need a good voice actor. With the new Star Trek movie coming out, I want to hear Leonard Nemoy and Patrick Stewart.

It's one thing to have generic commands in a foreign language (which, by the way, have their problems as well), it's something very different to have full text.

Frankly, I would turn it off. The animated leaderheads are clever and add a lot to the diplomacy, but I can't see how adding voices would do any more, especially since we have good diplo music.

Talking LH's is not something I want. It would muffle the diplo music, probably wouldn't be the good anyway, and I personally don't like the idea hearing the same sound clip of "I don't think so" over and over again when they keep declining my offers.

Glad somebody agrees with me. :)

I agree. Talking leaderheads is a bad idea. I have quite a few other games with talking A.I. or talking avatars, it's fun for the first 20 minutes, then it gets really, really annoying. Even if you can turn it off, it is still a waste of money and time for them to implement.
