Civilization V - The "Complete" Edition not so 'complete'.

Hello all, I'm new here and have come as a last resort to an issue I am having with Civilization V - The Complete Edition.

I'm a long time Civilization fan but haven't played any installments since Civilization IV came out. So I finally got round to purchasing this edition (Civilization V, Kings & Gods, Brave New World all in one) and installed.

No issues with installation. Followed all the prompts and everything set up easy. Started playing and loved it, but I felt as though it was a lot simpler than I thought it should be.

I eventually watched a YouTube clip of someone playing Civilization 5 on Deity (Marbozir is his handle) and noticed my game was WAY different and was missing A LOT of stuff.

Turns out 'K&G' and 'BNW' didn't install. Some DLC did install, but that's just small stuff like using other civilizations and a couple of scenarios and map packs. The main packs are no where to be seen.

I've read many troubleshooting guides from Steam, read many forums but none seem to have this issue and the threads I've seen where there was a similar issue, the solution for them didn't work for me. I've contacted 2k support but since this game has been out for a while I don't expect a Civilization V issue to be very high on their 'to-do' list. It's been about 4-5 days since I sent them for help. I've verified the files from Steam, slapped the monitor - nothing works. Seems as though the actual DLC does not even exist on the DVD. When I insert the DVD, the only three options I get are; 1) Play Civilization V, 2) Reinstall Civilization V, 3) Uninstall Civilization V.

This sucks! Does anyone have any solutions to this problem, or encountered this problem themselves and fixed it? I went to the shop where I bought the game and they said there's nothing they can do. No extra codes that might've not been in mine, nothing.

Again, this sucks. Any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you in advance.

Do you have everything checked in DLC section in game's page on Steam? Maybe you have to activate everything manually if you bought the game through retail seller.

If the main expansions are missing in this menu and you really purchased Complete Edition, or if they don't work even if checked and reinstalling the game doesn't help, then i guess it is up to support to solve the problem (if they can, cause if i understand correctly you didn't buy it in steam store). That is if you really bought Complete Edition (maybe it was some kind of another release, like gold edition and etc. that doesn't contain expansions?) and activated key through steam.

G'day mate, thanks for the reply.

I did look through the DLC in Steam numerous times, and all the ones which are there are ticked. They are just the extra civilizations you can use, a few scenarios and map packs, and they are all checked.

I am 100% positive I purchased the Complete Edition. It says 'Complete Edition' all over it - case, DVD, manual, read me file. Maybe I just lucked out and picked up the one copy that is completely screwed? I hope not. I'm still holding out that someone out there will have a solution and I've forgotten to do something (which I highly doubt even though I am not exactly computer savvy), or need to play around with something.

Either way, this shouldn't be happening, but it is. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

The same thing happened to me. Did you enter the game's installation code? It never asked for it when I first installed the Complete Edition. You have to go into Steam. There's a menu that allows you to enter the code. Sorry but I don't remember how to find it. LOL I'm pretty sure I did a Google search about how to enter the code on Steam.
